Mt. Spokane

The day of snowboarding! "Ahhh!" "Why am I even compelled to do this?" "What was I thinking" "OK. Just have fun!" "Have a good attitude".... These were some of the thoughts racing through my mind as we got closer and closer to the Lodge. I'm not exactly in the best shape I have ever been in and I have NEVER done this before, so to say I was a little apprehensive would be an understatement. I mostly did it for Justin because he really wanted to teach me and he was so excited about it. It was REALLY, REALLY HARD! The worst part was getting off the lift. The first time off was a complete disaster...which didn't inspire much confidence when I saw that somehow I was going to have to get back down the hill. The second time off the lift was slightly better, but I twisted my ankle pretty good and was a bit scared that I was going to injure myself in a bad way. I only went down the bunny hill a total of two times. The first time down I was a little bit grumpy. It was frustrating. I have to say that I married one of the most patient men on earth. Which is good, because I am not patient at all. He wanted to stay with me every step of the way. At the end of the day, I said I would even try it again, but...I'm not in too much of a hurry.

Miss Sarah...you go girl! Nice form!

When we were getting our gear on I realized I left my really, really warm coat at home! (hero music) Justin to the rescue! My sweet hubby let me wear his waterproof coat. He's the best!

I admit, I looked pretty ridiculous.

This was the position I spent most of the time in. The sorest parts of my body were my arms/biceps and wrists.

Justin and Corey coming down the hill.

Sarah taking a little snoozer while we waited for the guys.

Corey and Sarah....aw, how cute!

I feel your pain. Next time we talk I'll have to tell you about my first and only time skiing. Your story is kinda similar.
You are brave to snowboard. I probably killed myself had I tried that instead of skiing.

I say you get big points for just going out there!
Have you tried skiing? I think it's easier. Then you can keep up with those snowboarders! I love Mt. Spokane. I've been to a lot of ski resorts and it's one of my favorites. It has the best beginner hill and the backside part is way fun.

DeAnne, you were more than "a bit grumpy!" You got made at me before you even tried to get up the first time (before starting DOWN the slope). You know I love to try and teach you things... think bathroom remodel. I Love You and thanks for trying new things for/with me!
