Elisabeth at one year....continued

A friend of mine came over a got a few pictures of Miss Elisabeth for me. We just love this girl. She is getting more and more personality all the time. She's getting really active and energetic and really keeps me on my toes. She loves music and likes to dance when music comes on. She also likes to courtesy laugh. When there's a group of people together and we all start laughing, she'll chime right in. Yesterday (July 5, 2014) she took her first steps. She took 2 steps to her Aunt Sarah. Today she took two more to me. So fun! She is also staring to copy sounds and saying her first words. Besides "mama" I think her first official word is "hi". Elisabeth is quite determined.

Elisabeth turns 1

We love Elisabeth so much! She is fun, happy, spunky, funny, smart, beautiful, sweet, cuddly, feisty.

She isn't walking yet, but she likes to stand alone more and more all the time. I'm sure it won't be much longer.
One of the best days of my life! I wish I could go back in time and hold her all over again for the first time.

Such a sweet, tiny little angel.
And then there was this phase.....which lasted WAYYYYYYY too long! I never thought this baby would ever stop crying. It was truly miraculous that I didn't lose my mind completely. She's making up for it now though :)

Elisabeth's 1 year stats:

Height: 28" (18.11%)
Weight: 22lbs (67.05%)
Head: 44.25cm (26.67%)
BMI: 19.7 (97.52%.....hmmmm)

Katelyn turs 8

This beautiful girl of ours turned 8 on Tuesday, June 10th. It was the last week of school and Erik & Gretchen's family was visiting, so I let Katelyn take the day off of school. We went and looked at homes we Erik and Gretchen, then I took her for a haircut (she got an a-line bob which looks fantastic on her!), she got to open presents and cards from grandparents, then we went to the mall and she got to have her ears pierced. She's been waiting a REALLY long time for this day! She was so brave and only said "ow, ow, ow". No tears at all. We went out to dinner at Red Robin (her pick) and afterward she went to the shooting range with her cousin McKay and Justin and Erik. She got to shoot a gun for the first time (yes, it makes me cringe a little even though I trust Justin completely).

In a few more weeks she will be baptized. I hope it's a very special day for her.

Easter and other happenings

Trip to the dentist ended in the removal of her two baby front teeth that just didn't want to let go. Plus she got a new prescription for eyeglasses. These are her new frames. She's really growing up!

EASTER!

No Cavities, yay!

Everyone is so happy when Daddy is awake during the DAY! ALMOST done with Night shift..

She loves to come up behind me and hand onto the back of my pants. Makes it really hard to get around sometimes :)

Elisabeth 10 months

She is getting to be more and more fun all the time. She can pull herself up to standing now. She has 6 teeth (two on bottom and 4 on top)

She learned to clap (after Rachelle Meek watched her one day) and enjoys doing so. She loves to eat just about everything. She has moved onto eating mostly table food at this point. Once in a while she still has baby food from a jar, but she is staring to protest it more and more.

She hates getting her face cleaned, nose wiped, shirt put on and she is my child that doesn't want to lie still to have her diaper changed, which can get really messy sometimes. She has gone from being our most challenging baby, to being quite a happy baby most of the time. She loves her big sisters and she loves to be outside and to go for walks.

She is cruising along everything, and even starting to let go and stand on her own for a few seconds. She loves to unfold help with the laundry and empty the dishwasher (even when you are trying to fill it up).

She scares really easily. She doesn't like to be tossed up into the air like a lot of babies do. She's not so sure about the ceiling fan in our room and yelling can make her cry (and I mean any loud, sudden hollering type yelling...not that I yell at her). She's a tender heart.

Pretty girl

Here is Elisabeth in one of her "cloth" diapers. I know everyone thinks I'm weird for trying it out (even Justin). Home births, cloth diapers! I'm pretty much a freak, right?! Well, whatever! It's my life and I get to live it how ever I please :) And it's actually much easier than I ever thought it would be.

WE are crazy about this girl!

Elisabeth 9 months

I feel so lucky to have this little girl. Well, all my girls. Babies are just THE BEST though. The time is going by way too quickly.

Her 9 month stats:

Weight: 18.8 lbs (49% - she shot way up on this from her 6 month at which she was only 12%)
Length: 26.75" (21% - down from 23.5% @ 6 months)
Head: 43.5cm (33%)

She started crawling just after her 9 month mark. I thought she'd be less whiny after she started moving more freely, but then she just started following me around and whining. What a sweet heart.

Elisabeth 8 Months

I'm way behind on the blogging of Elisabeth's first year. Here is her 8 Month picture.

Family Home Evening

When Justin works the night shift we rotate our Family Home Evening schedule since he is gone every other Monday night. So last night we had FHE and when I told the girls I was getting the lesson ready, Alaina gathered up some blank 3x5 cards and told me she was going to get a scripture ready. She proceeded to write on them with her blue crayon, doing her best to write down all the letters that she knows how to write.

We gathered downstairs for our lesson. We started with the song and prayer and then Alaina said she had something she wanted to share. She ran to get her 3x5 cards then came back and stood at the front of the room, all business like and proceeded to read to us what she had written.

Then Katelyn wanted to read something too...

Elisabeth 7 months

Elisabeth is now 7 months! The time is just flying by with her. She is so adorable! I know, I am biased (as it should be for any mother), but she's just so pretty and cute and chubby and delicious!

She still only has two teeth. I am kind of surprised by this since she got the first two at 4 months. I thought for sure she'd sprout a couple more by now. She rolls from back and front, she scoots and pushes herself all over the place. Today I found her halfway underneath the wing back chair. Justin has nicknamed her "scooter".

She loves eating and has quite a healthy appetite. She gets startled very easily. She always has. She is a great little talker and I love listening to her babble. She is getting better and better at sitting up, but isn't all the way there yet. I don't like to go too far when she's sitting up, unless I surround her with pillows to soften the fall when she topples over.

I think that Elisabeth is kind of a spaz....in a good way. The other day I was rocking her and feeding her and she kept pulling off of her bottle and then shaking her head back and forth from side to side. Such a spaz! To be quite honest, there have been a few times I have wondered about her...as in, does she have some kind of disorder or something??? Just a fleeting thought...

Yesterday I took her in the have her hips x-rayed. I think I mentioned before that her doctor mentioned her asymmetrical thigh skin folds. Sometimes it can be an indicator for hip dysplasia. They did two x-rays, which she was definitely NOT thrilled about. I'm hoping, and expecting, that they will come back normal.

little girls

Since the girls still had some money in their doll jars, I took them down to the bank and we cashed in their coins. They both ended up with $38 dollars to spend on what ever doll accessories they chose. Katelyn fell in love with this camp trailer, but I told her it cost $60 and she didn't have enough. When Alaina also decided that she really liked it, I suggested they pool their money together so they would have enough to buy it. They thought that was a great idea. So they got the trailer and then had enough for a little purse set each.

I think it's very cute and they are having so much fun with their new toys.
