here i come
The running (plodding, clunking...or whatever you want to call it) has continued. I started running again last week now that I am feeling better. It went much better than the first run and I was able to go a lot farther without stopping. My right knee always bothers me when I start out, but after a little bit it seems to be OK. I ran twice last week and again today. I had a follow up with my doctor today and it turns out that my LDL (the bad cholesterol) is a bit high. My overall cholesterol is fine though. (No lectures, please!) SO...I definitely need to keep up the running and aerobics. I have already started eating lower fat and the great news is that I have lost (according to my scale) about 6 pounds already! Some days I feel so motivated and other days I feel like I will never get this weight off. And it really doesn't help that our bedroom came with not one, but TWO full length mirrored closet doors-who does that??? One day at a time I guess. I am still planning on doing the 5K in a month, but I am a long way from being able to run 3 miles. I can do one whole mile without stopping though.

Way to go! I think setting the 5k goal is great.
You go girl!! I am in a similar boat. It is really hard to stay motivated every single day. Keep up the good work! (I take 400 mg of Ibuprofen before every workout. It really helps!)

When do you have to register for the 5k by?
I had high cholesterol a couple years ago and didn't want to take medication so in addition to exercise I took 1/2 tsp cinnamon in the morning and the numbers dropped big time. I just bought it off the spice shelf used my measuring spoon plopped 1/2 tsp in my mouth and downed with water. I know they have pills now, but I just used the 50 cent stuff from wal mart (lots cheaper). Good luck.
