2 years in the making

I started this quilt two years ago in June. I wouldn't
say it was too ambitious or anything, it just got to be
very tedious work. Those star blocks are very time
consuming. Anyway, I would get tired of working on it
and move on to something else that I could finish quicker.

Originally, I wanted to make the quilt much bigger than the
actual pattern was written for. I was able to get a lot of the extra
fabric from the quilt shop where I bought this and was very excited.

A week or so ago, I pulled out all my quilting supplies and started up
on this quilt again. Two days ago, after really organizing myself,
I realized that I did not have enough fabric to make it as large
as I had planned. I was actually quite relieved and it
was turning out to be quite large anyway. So today, I got it all
put together with the borders and everything. I put it on our
bed and it fits really well. It's just a bit shorter on the sides
than I would like, so I think I will add an additional 2.5" border
on the sides only. The length is plenty long.

Next step: Off to the quilt shop to be quilted.

Have I ever mentioned that I love quilting?

Yes, very beautiful! I think I would like to learn , but then again I know I would never finish one and I don't have enough patience, so if something went wrong I would probably throw a hissy fit.
