Friday night in the Pool. The water was so warm!

Birch Bay Trip

This weekend we went over to Birch Bay, near Blaine WA.
My dad and his wife, Brandi, invited all of us 'Patsfield' kids
as well as her two daughters and their families over for a
weekend get-away. It was a beautiful weekend!
MichaelBraeden & Kate. He kept her highly entertained.

I love this picture of me, mid-yawn. Very flattering, don't you think?
Potty break!

Insomnia

Justin sometimes likes to talk in his sleep or do other weird things when he is semi-conscious. This morning I woke up to him sort of grunting out the word "NO!" and grabbing my upper arm really tight. So I say, "Justin!" ...huh, what, oh....(snore...). Who knows what that boy was dreaming about. Probably trying to arrest me in my sleep. So glad he could fall back asleep. I have been awake since 4:35am now and can't sleep. It's really irritating, especially knowing that we have a really long road trip to go on today. Hopefully I will not be needed to drive because I will probably be useless.

Mommy In The Making

I walked into Kate's room this afternoon and this is what I found.
Only a few wipes were lost, but if was for a good cause. I love it!
How adorable is that?
Katelyn was so proud of herself.
~Big cheesy grin~

Poor Katelyn

She's only two years old and she already has a bad back.
Just kidding. I just thought this pose that she was doing
was really funny. I couldn't figure out why she was doing it.

Our neighbor, Joe (aka "grandpa Joe") convinced us, or convinced
Justin rather, that we ought to give Katelyn a paint brush too and
let her help us while we put new stain on the front porch/deck.

I wasn't as eager to let her get a hold of a paint brush, but she had fun!

Poor kid, hope her back feels OK ;o)

Little hands

So thankful for little helpers...
Poor Katelyn was left all alone while mommy & daddy were
tending to some things outside. She got a hold of a little dish
that had the smallest amount of paint left in it. She decided to help...
again!

Here she is all smiles for daddy while he took her picture.

Not so happy now. She knew mom was not happy either.

Sewing Creations

This is my first attempt at making a curtain. I got some fabric
today for making some cafe style curtains for our kitchen nook
area. The colors are dark chocolate brown, with reds and greens.
My measurements weren't very good, but I can make it
work. I just hope they will look decent once I get them up there.
*I have never made a curtain before, nor did I have any instructions,
so that is why they are kind of probably not that great. It was fun though*

Painting Buddies

Two of my sisters (Jenny-left/Crystyne-right) came to rescue
me from my painting bondage today. It helped TONS to have
two extra bodies and we covered a lot of ground today.
Plus it's always more fun getting high on paint fumes with friends.
Muchos Gracias ladies!

Kate doing some leisurely reading while the rest of us slave away.

Ok, so she did help out a little as you can see. No I didn't scold her, she just didn't want her picture taken. SOMEbody left a roller out and Kate has been dying to paint. Oh well.

Into The Garden

Okay, okay...it's not really "my" garden, it's more like Justin's garden.

All the credit must be given to him, because I had almost nothing to

do with the cultivating, planting, or tending of the garden, with the

exception of grudgingly pulling a few weeds here or there. Justin does

a great job. This year we planted: corn, yellow crook-neck squash,

peas, green beans, romaine lettuce, spinach (didn't turn out well this year),

pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes (Roma and something else), potato,

peppers (did not grow...very sad, I love sweet peppers), and then

we have some still young raspberry plants as well.

This is our corn. Justin doesn't remember what kind it is, but it

is really pretty. The stalks are kind of purple-red. Justin picked a

few ears yesterday to see if they were ready. It was still a bit too

soon, but I shucked and cooked them anyway, and they smelled

SOOOO sweet! I am excited about having corn this year.

We've got corn growing out our ears!!! haha, get it? ears?

Yeah, it's late.

What a stud!

Tomatoes...yum! They are so delicious.

Romaine lettuce gone wild! We planted too much and it didn't get eaten.
