Come To Jesus

For the past two years I have had the opportunity to sing in an all women's choir with our church. It's a Christmas choir. It has been such an uplifting experience each time. This year I wasn't sure if I was going to do it. With how high maintenance Elisabeth has been with crying episodes, I just felt overwhelmed at the thought of trying to juggle this small baby for rehearsals. I almost, almost decided not to do it, but told myself I'd go to one practice and see how it went. There was some juggling, but Elisabeth did well for the most part.  I realized that my spirit really needs this choir and that I love being able to feel of God's love through music.

I have been moved to tears twice now during rehearsal, which I hate, because I don't like crying in front of people. Today's practice of the song "Come To Jesus" had that affect on me. It has been a challenging 4 months with a new baby who has cried a lot.  Having a new baby adds stress to my relationship with Justin and it has just been hard. That is why the words to this song have been particularly meaningful to me, so I wanted to write them down and share them.

COME TO JESUS

Come to Jesus when you hunger for a feast that satisfies.
Come to Jesus when you wonder why your spirit's running dry.
He will feed you from his table, living water he will pour,
Till you're filled with bread of life, and your soul will thirst no more.
So, if you hunger, come, come to Jesus.
Come to Jesus when you're weary of the burdens you must bear.
Come to Jesus when you're fearful and your heart is in despair.
He will ease the load you carry, by the power of His hand.
As you lean on Him for strength you will find that you can stand.
So, if you're weary, come, come to Jesus.
Come and claim the Savior's grace.
Seek for Him, and you will find yourself in His embrace.

Come to Jesus when you're ready for a sweeter way of life.
Come to Jesus when you're heading down a pathway with no light.
He will take your sin and weakness, and will wash away the shame.
He will purify your heart, and you will never be the same.
So, if you're ready, come, come to Jesus.

I am thankful to have a Savior who makes me more than I could ever hope to be all on my own.

If you would like to come and hear this beautiful song and many others, our concert will be December 14 and 15 at 7 pm at the LDS chapel on Gage Blvd. in Richland.

Yay! I love the Christmas choir and I love to come to the concert! I look forward to it every year. Just cry, cry, cry. I think with a new baby, you need the outlet. I bawled all through primary last week. I can't stay strong during those sweet songs but it was very therapeutic.
