So a while ago I was using the ladies room at school and saw on the wall next to the toilet this handy print out of various house tips. Among this wisdom, was the tip that if you separate your bananas one from another, rather than keep them in a bunch, then they will ripen more slowly. Well, I hate soft bananas and I also hate wasting produce. So after I bought this bunch of bananas from Costco, I immediately separated them. That was no joke, THREE weeks ago! They are still as hard as rocks. I am beginning to wonder if I should keep waiting for them to ripen, or if I should give up on them altogether.

it's not you, it's the bananas from costco. they are all hard as a rock. i finally gave up buying bananas at costco because they always stay green & hard! maybe you could buy bananas from the regular grocry store and try that trick.
I agree DeAnne, I've bought bananas from costco before that never ripen even if they are all stuck together. It's a mystery ... if I were you I'd take them back.
i hate costco bananas! That is really funny though. It makes you wonder what is wrong with them that they never rippen.
