I can't believe it is time to go back to school already! The summer just wizzed by.
Katelyn is starting 2nd grade this year. Last night Justin was able to give her a Father's blessing. Katelyn said she was excited, but she was also kind of nervous about having a new class and she was worried about not knowing the kids in her class. We did remind her of all the kids we knew about that would be in her class that she DOES know.
This morning she was excited to go, but I could tell she was still a little apprehensive. Still, she did great! I hope it will be a great year for her. Her third loose tooth is about to come out and could possibly come out at school.

Two Months Old
It's crazy to me how time flies so fast when you have kids. Knowing that Elisabeth is our last baby makes me feel like she is just slipping away so fast already (I know, that sounds very dramatic). I can now understand a little bit why youngest children in families tend to be "babied". It's because you know how fast it goes and you just kinda don't want to let go.
Here are some pictures of Elisabeth at two months. What we know about her so far:
Justin says: "she's like her Mom. Very impatient". HA! (Oh, and "moody") You would probably say the same thing if you had a colicky baby. She can get pretty worked up.
She is super sweet, of course (when she isn't crying all the time).
She is starting to smile more and more.
She laughs in her sleep (I love that!)
Her eyes are still lighter than either Katelyn's or Alaina's. We are still waiting to see what the final color will be.
She likes to be swaddled tightly.
She still doesn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time (usually two).
She is practicing holding her head up more and more.
When her feet touch your legs, she pushes up like she's trying to stand.
She uses the pacifier way more than my other girls, but still usually only when she is trying to go to sleep.
She has the cutest, squishiest little cheeks and I love to kiss on them especially when she's asleep.

What you have to do when your baby cries a lot and needs to be held.
Multitasking.
Sweet as can be.

The BIG birthday present
When I was working at Great Harvest, I was privileged to meet a super cool girl named Ilana. So pretty, so smart, funny and just a really great all around person (she's single guys!!!). I soon learned that she was into horses and that she had a horse she was sort of renting (ok, I can't remember what it's called, but it's someone else's horse and she pays for it's upkeep and gets to ride it, etc.) Well, the wheels got turning in my head and I started wondering if there would be a way for Katelyn to go for a horse ride one day. Katelyn has been quite obsessed with horses for the last several years and she was frequently asking if she would ever be able to ride one some day.
Well, Ilana was able to arrange it all for us as a surprise for Katelyn's birthday. We didn't tell Alaina either because that wouldn't have gone over well, so when we got closer to the house we blind folded them both. Here are some pictures of the exciting day:

Taking the blind folds off- SURPRISE!
This horse is Beau, and his owner
The girls got to brush Beau first. Apparently something you need to do
before you put the saddle on so they don't get sores.
Justin mingling with another horse on the property
Safety first! Ready to ride!
A dream come true!
Even Alaina got to take a turn.

They had so much fun and Katelyn said it was the best birthday present ever!
Katelyn turns 7!
We had planned to have a little birthday party for Katelyn after we returned from Oregon. It was going to be the last "big" thing I do (it really wasn't big at all, but when you're huge and pregnant everything seems like a big deal). Well, obviously things changed and I didn't want to cancel the party on her, so we just went ahead and had it anyway, we just had a brand new baby too!
I had my friend Rachelle make these cute cupcake toppers. She made them out
of chocolate and then sprayed them with food coloring, I think. So cute!
Oh little girls are fun. It never fails, when it is time to open
presents they just can't help their selves and they have to crowd in
closer and closer and shove their gifts at the bday girl.

Make a wish!
HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY Katelyn! We love you so much!
