Katelyn has such a sweet way of trying my patience.
I have to ask her repeatedly to do things...
usually that I want her to stop doing. So today she
was walking around with two large canning jars. She took
them and bumped them together, so I asked her not to
do it again, and told her we need to be soft with glass.
What does she do? BAM! Hits them together even
harder and one of them breaks into a million pieces.
I grabbed her immediately to get her away from the glass
and scolded her (lovingly, of course). She started bawling,
probably more out of fear than anything. We got the glass cleaned
up and then I noticed there was blood coming from her hands.
She had cut her little thumb, and then started crying even more.
Now, I am not the kind of person to react, or over-react
to a little blood, so don't go thinking that I freaked out and
made her cry about the blood. Anyway, we got it all
cleaned up and went to put a band-aid on her thumb. You
would have thought I had cut her open again, she totally
freaked out at the band-aid, did not want anything
to do with it. I guess I need to get some cute princess
band-aids or something so it will be more fun next time.

i usually have a box of girlie bandaids and boy bandaids for cody and brinely. i go through TONS of them. they find any excuse they can to wear them. i don't mind too much because i always wanted to wear to wear a pretty band aid when i was younger, but we never had them. :) they'll outgrow it someday.
let her pick out the bandaids and she will want to wear them. She will make up some sort of ouchie just to put one on.
