tiny little space

This is our very small dining room. When we bought the house we didn't realize that when we put the china hutch in, there would be hardly any space at all. Thus, we have never put a real dining room table in it. And we have two of them in our garage. We manage just fine eating off this really lovely card table, but it's really tough if we have guests over. So, it has come time to move the hutch out (for now) into storage and bring in a real table.

(don't you love our Harley painted garage? It came like that. There's a skull on the other wall that Katelyn doesn't like very much.)

When we first moved down here, our table was still up in Newport in our "staged" house that was for sale. A nice guy in our first ward (Christopher Childers) said we could have this table they were using. It's actually a decent table and with the leaf in you can seat several people. The chairs that came with it were pretty rickety, so we got rid of them last year. We were going to get rid of the table too, but I decided I wanted to hang onto it. We decided to refinish it with a darker stain and paint the legs black. Then we'll just need to get some chairs and that's it. It's been sitting in the garage for quite some time now. Waiting...just waiting...and waiting...and waiting. I'm not very patient. Almost sanded it myself. Finally Justin "found" some time and it's getting done! Yay! Thank you A. Hamel for lending us the sander.

Here are the legs to the table. It's really a very nice, solid, very heavy wood table. I'm excited to finish it.

It looks great! I might call you for tips when it comes time to refinish our table.

Dave Ramsey and every liberal in the country would be pleased with the recycling of the table.

Great decision to get rid of the hutch. It was just too much for the space.

Love to all. Oh, I have gotten little support for a TW party and we leave on Thursday.

Oh, make sure you strip the legs of the pain already applied. You will not like the finished product if you don't strip.
