My very kind neighbor loaned us Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" on CD. Justin and I have listened to the first lesson together so far and I am taking it in the car with me so I can listen to it in the car while I drive to Spokane today. I am LOVING it!!!!! It is SO motivating! My neighbors paid off $50 THOUSAND dollars in debt in SEVEN months by using this program. Granted, they don't have small kids at home (yet) and were both working their tails off at jobs that pay very well. Still. I have never felt so inspired, in a financial way before. I want this (meaning, financial peace) really bad right now. Baby steps! That's what lesson one is about. I made a good baby step today while I was out running errands. I began to feel very, very hungry. I had $8 cash in my wallet. I thought I could just go through a drive through and grab a sandwich real quick. I was so close to doing it. so close. Then as I kept listening to lesson 2 while driving aroun, changed my mind. Decided I would do my last errand and just go home and make a sandwich instead. It felt good.

Good Luck, Clark and I took Dave's seminar through our church. It was very informative and really put things into perspective for us. That first step of building an acct with $1000 was really exciting for us as well. It's those little accomplishiments / victories that help you keep moving along with the program. Wait until you get the the part about money market accts etc. That really interested me. Though just keep things into perspective as well. Financial Peace was created several years ago and the interest rates and such that he suggests in getting out of debt are not comparable with the current market interest rates now so don't get discouraged. The principle's are still valid. Good Luck!
Daniel and I also like Dave Ramsey. He has a great book you should check out called the Total Money Makeover. It's really good. We also paid off a lot of debt using his program. My parents also gave us Financial Peace University Jr. for kids, so we could help teach our kids good spending habits.
Dave is the reason we put 20 down on our house! He is awesome!! Good job on the sandwich making!!
The Total Money Makeover is sitting on the kitchen countertop waiting for me to mail it to you!
That's one nice thing about living in a small town, no drive-thrus. Except we make up for it everytime we go shopping in PA.
You are awesome, Justin is so lucky to have you! ;)
