Good Eyes, Folate and Iron

I never realized how lucky I was to have good eyesight, until this year. My eyes have rapidly declined over this past year and I now have glasses, although I am really bad at wearing them. So I just sit here at the computer and squint and strain because I am too lazy to go upstairs and get them.

Okay this is for all you health nuts out there. C'mon, I know you're out there. I have embarked on a new food tracking plan and I am trying to get in better nutrition. I am finding it a bit of a challenge to make my goals for Iron and Folate. Anyone have any good ideas. I have tried Total Cereal and Mulitgrain Cheerios, but I need some different ideas.

Anyone, Anyone?

When Ezra was younger, I asked his pediatrician about iron and she recommended Total cereal.

DeAnne,
I took a nutrition class over the summer, so I looked this up in my textbook...
Good sources of folate: cooked beef liver, cooked lentils, pinto beans, spinach, asparagus, enriched cereal, avocado, and beets.
If you drink milk with your meal, it may enhance the absorption of folate.
The daily recommended intake for adults is set at 400 micrograms per day.
Good sources of iron: clams, enriched cereal, beef steak, spinach, navy beans, swiss chard, black beans, and beef liver.
The daily recommended intake for women is 18mg/day. During pregnancy, a woman needs 27 milligrams/day.
It's also important to remember that more than the recommended amount is not better.
Sorry, this is probably way more information than you wanted... I always find this stuff so interesting. : )
