Little girls
Is it just mine or does anyone else have a little girl who is very whiny? I am crazy about Katelyn, but she whines all day long. Sometimes I wonder if she has a sense of humor or not. Tonight I asked her if she wanted some toast, which she did. However, we don't have any bread in the house, (I know, how could that be?) so instead I toast some cinnamon raisin english muffins. She is very picky, so I don't really know if this will go over well, but am pleasantly surprised when she begins chowing down. Yeah, that lasted about 2 minutes. She bit in to a bite with some raisin and had a fit about it. Crying, spitting it out, sticking out her tongue with a partially chewed raisin on it, wanting me to come to the rescue and scrape it out of her little mouth. Ahhh! It makes me crazy sometimes. Is this a girl thing, or am I just lucky? She whines about getting out of the bath, about getting her diaper changed, about sitting on the potty, about food on her hands, and on and on. I am probably more sensitive to it right now due to a little PMS, but it makes me want to laugh and cry and pull my hair out all at the same time. Has anyone else had a child like this?

Seriously I just laughed out loud! My sisters and I have had this conversation so many times. It's not scientifically proven as far as we know, but we all agree little girls are just more emotional. In other words, they whine and cry a lot. Katelyn is absolutely, preciously, normal as far as I know! :) We love our little girls and want so much to make everything okay for them. Sometimes it seems there is no solution, and it's way harder to solve every problem especially when there are more kids. But there is nothing like a sweet little girl. She'll grow out of it somewhat as she gets older and better able to express herself. But really...aren't women known as emotional and stuff? Maybe it never really goes away! Aaahhh! We just keep it under wraps...until PMS hits! Just kidding! Well, at least I better say that before womankind thinks I've switched sides! ;)
Shgirl and I have this deal. If she tries really hard not to cry about everything every day, I try hard to listen to all her problems and help her as much as I can. Lots of affection and listening on my end solves most of her problems. Katelyn will probably whine less as she gets older and is better able to communicate what's up. Just know I totally feel for your frustration! I'm sure you're doing an awesome job at being patient.
I know this is long D...Craig is in Indiana this week and I'm trying to ignore the boogeyman!
Oh, it doesn't get any better, they just complain about different stuff. Brinley is such a whiner...i am always make the whiny voice back to her and then she starts to laugh and then i can get her to actually talk to me about what she is whining about. It drives me nuts. It's worse when she is tired. She also hates mornings and I have to drag her out of bed. I don't even want to know what it will be like when she is 13...AHHHH.
No it is just Katelyn... No not really. Mason whines a lot also. So I don't think it's just girls, it's the age. Mason is getting better about whining now that he can better express himself and let me know what he wants. I find that he whines the most when he is really hungry.
